I will also suggest guys waiting with their PD current to write to the USCIS Director in DC. I did that; not sure if that worked in my case, but one needs to explore every way of bringing their case to the attention of the management.

Good luck!. In my opinion, you need to know following people very well apart from money if you want to lead the same lifestyle.
1. MLA or MP (Even to get good school admission you need recommendation)
2. DSP or SP level police officer (to have security in life)
3. Thasildar level officer (to have your property secure)
4. Local Dhadha's support (to protect from land acquisition, other dadhas)
5. Good neighbors, teachers and relatives (to protect our loved ones spouse/kids from emotional attack)
And of course at least 2 crores cash (half million US $??). I don't have anything right now, so I would love to spend my rest of live here hoping to get GC some day in my life.

If you happen to be in a police case (auto accident, robbery etc), you'll know how important it is to have links with the police and local politicians, otherwise someone will screw you and you won't be able to do anything.

Hi,
Can someone explain the process of using AC21 for self employment? I have searched the web without much luck. If someone can throw some light on this topic along with how to deal with issues that come up with AC21 and self employment I would really appreciate it.

Guys inorder for DOS or DHS or USCIS to get the message they will FIRST and FOREMOST have to understand WHO Gandhi is. For that we will have to attach a few pages of documentation about Mahatma Gandhi. By the time the message gets to the correct person's hands AND he/she understands the true meaning of the message, the person will think we insulted them, coz the the flowers will be dead and dried up and STINKY.
Folks... the flowers are just one part of the campaign. The other part is where we notify every major news media about what we are trying to do (we will mail them on July 9th). That is where we let people know what we are trying to achieve. The flowers are a means to an end. Something to attract the media.
We hope that the media will cover this event since it is so unorthodox.

How do you know that the visa numbers will indeed become "U", come October? Any numbers/sources to back up the claim?
I know some senior members previously indicated in these forums that there is a difference between a "U"-Unavailable and a retrogressed date of 2003 for example.
I dont know if the visa numbers will become "U".

We have received our cards without getting CPO email. I got email for welcome notice sent on 08/05 and then approval notice sent on 08/08..got cards on 08/11..hope this helps...

Application received by R.Mickels on 07/02/07 at NSC ( I485/I131/I765), LUD on my I 140 on 07/28/07.My I 140 approved April 06. No receipts/ checks cashed. I m From NY,I think my application transfer to TSC.
Actually I had problem since my son will be 21 on July 24th, I hope i will get receipt date July 2nd.
I had a LUD on 7/28 and nothing after that... My I140 approved in Texas in April2006. I think we should get the receipt number here pretty soon...

If the CIR seems likely to pass, I believe Sen. Cornyn will push for this bill to be added to the CIR as an amendment, much similar to what Sen. Durbin did with the DREAM bill. Amongst the bills I have seen, this bill is the best one so far. Agreed it does not address all that we want....but compared to where we are, this bill will achieve a lot for us. Especially, if the AOS clause passes, it pretty much means that you can file I-485 i.e. it means that you and your dependents become eligible for EAD and all the benefits associated with it. :)

H-1B visa holder is not authorized alien to work for any employer. Employer can not be asked to provide H-1B sponsorship.
Infact H-1B worker has lot of restrictions related to his work. H1-B worker has to work only in his job location and pay range as specified in LCA. Any significant changes in job location, job duties, and/or salary requires LCA and H-1B petition amendment. H-1B worker is out of status when out of job for any reason. EAD holders, OPT are immigrants, who are not permanent resident, but they do not have such restrictions. And, thats why, they are authorized alien to work for any employer. (Hint: SSN card for H-1B holder has line - work with USCIS authorization only whereas GC/EAD holder does not have that line on their SSN card).
Authorized alien include EAD holders, GC holders, OPT, and US citizens. If you don't believe me, feel free to put this question in lawyer's forum and let me know what response you get.
Now, coming back to your quote

Well, I am TOO depressed about the BEC performance. I know too many people are in same situation but I find myself "helpless" and at least i want to SCREAM......:mad:
Different things work for different people - whatever works for you or engages your time/attention, indulge in it in most of your spare-time and try to divert your "screaming" energy, constructively...
