"EB-2 India. This category is expected to remain unchanged or to move very slowly forward (by a week or so) in the short-term. It should be children born OUTSIDE of US not INSIDE!!!!
It is correct. We are talking about both kinds of kids. And saying that not having greencard affects the quality of life for the family.

My one set of checks cleared last friday & other set yet to be cleared. That might be for me or wife, no idea. So I'm waiting.
How are you so sure that your case checks were cashed & not your wife's just curious.

Just wanted to give you an update on my FP notice. Finally I got FP notice today schedule for 01/29/08. I guess Infopass appointment works. I had infopass appointment on 21st of Dec 2007 and IO told me I should expect FP within 3 weeks . I guess USCIS has started working after a long break. Hang on guys.

Could you tell us briefly what did you tell or ask IO during InfoPass appt. Did you also tell them that you had opened an SR and did you show them the SR response letter also.

Hi,
There are several restrictions/constraints for many ppl for not being able to devote time/money for the general cause. Let's not fret about the reasons. While it would help for all ppl to join forces that should not distract the group that is doing something about the issues.
And ppl on the sidelines - pls don't be a passive professional critique. However valuable your comments and ideas are they are useless without acting upon it - they are just like seeds sown in a barren land. The good work of the forum will continue without your presence. With your involvement we all can reach the goal that much more faster.
My Labor certification is actually filed in the state of IL. But i am on an assignment in MD till Sep 2010 (after filing for relevant amendments).
It's ~5 hrs drive for me to Baltimore/Washington-DC. So, coming every week for a meeting is not practical. I am extremely eager to support OUR cause given the commuting constraints. I have already written to our congress man here to bring to his notice the struggles of wannabee immigrants.
So, where do i sign up?

but she's right. the US immigration law is extremely detailed and totally unforgiving. the country quotas being applied to employment visas looks like some lawyer gone overboard with putting constraints while writing the law, but now it is the law, and they don't change laws here unless there are votes or lot of money involved.

Good luck..I filed everything on the 14th of Aug; for 485 I think the fees was 395; for EAD 180 and AP 170. all together 1490 for 2...1165 seems a little weird because first of all 1165 is not divisible by 2 :)); I guess based on old fee structure, 485 is 325 plus 70 biometric fee

I am not sure why USCIS is publishing the updates every week saying that there is progress in receipting dates.

Im really not sure if this helps EB3 cases. for example in my case i have a bachelors degree + 10 years expereince and stuck in EB3. I dont think this will help me because I dont have an US degree.

That is correct, but it will help thousands of people who come on F1 visas and then transition in to H1B and have their GC being processed. I think that we need to look at what the U.S wants to get out of all this too and not just our perspectives.

All who are still waiting for FP, a suggestion based on my personal experience. If you are calling TSC, then it will not make any difference as you will not receive FP notice even after calling and waiting for months. I would suggest take Infopass and get the FP scheduled. For NSC, sometimes if you get nice IO they may schedule you right away and tell you the date of FP on the phone itself. This info is all based on my past experiences of reading various threads and calling TSC. So I am not sure what the trend is right now.

For your Information India's GDP is 3 trillion USD compare to Mexico 1 trillion USD. Taking into account GDP of EU India ranks 5th in GDP higher than any indivisual European nation where as Mexico ranks 13th. This is as per CIA worldfactbook. So where did you get the number

Without the PPT adjustment, India's GDP is equal to Mexico's, even though India has 11 times the population of Mexico. The reason India comes in 4th with the PPP adjustment in the world is because the ruppee is undervalued and Indians have a purchasing power that is 4 times smaller than Mexicans. So, to humor you and use your method of calculation, the Per Capita GDP (PPP) Of India is $3,344 in 2006 and Mexico's is $12,886. "Where are all the Mexican doctores, computer scientists, economists and professors?" you ask. The answer is: They are IN MEXICO making huge salaries, when the Indian ones have to come here because their salaries in India don't give them enough money to eat. Why aren't all the construction workers and lawn workers in the U.S. Indian? Because they cannot affor the airfare. The Mexicans just walk accross the border. Any you know what? All those Indian Professors at Harvard etc are teaching class to all those rich Mexican kids. Get your facts straight before you confront me and make fun of my MBA (which I got in the U.S. incidentally, not Mexico, but if I had wanted I could have gotten a top 20 MBA back home). Krithi: Can you please let me know how to go to Adv Parole side. Although we have had them but have never used them before. So I need to guide my wife towards this AP area.
So in order to show or use AP my wife has to go and line up in the visa queue OR she has to go to Permanent Resident/Citizens side and from there they will route to this AP check/processing area. Please advise.
Sorry with my fundamental questions but I have never used my APs till now.

Great!! People are already talking about the flowers to USCIS. By the way, there are flower websites, with same day delivery.
I have convinced a few people at work to do this. Their point is, if we really want to do this, let's do it in a way that works. After receiving a few deliveries, USCIS will get the idea and direct it's lobby security to refuse all further flower deliveries. What's our plan for that situation?
How did the people who delivered nuts to CBS make it happen? The delivery was actually done via UPS. It's difficult to refuse a UPS packet in the security lobby! Should we send chocolates via UPS instead? It will be much more difficult to refuse deliveries of chocolates.
