Guys,
why are u arguing whether to go back to India or not, just go if u want to or else stay and keep quiet..
There is no need to wash India's dirty linen in public here.every country has their own issues, that includes US as well.
Admin, can we please DELETE this thread and be done with this.
Moreover why cannot a person going back to india just go back quietly instead of posting it here unless he has issues been stopped as the Immigration counter in India.
I just put it in the Interesting Topics section. I think it is easy for you to ignore it instead adding 10 lines of comment.

I guess you have decided after lots of thoughts so "all the best of luck". Do you have kids? what age group if you do? just curious
Wondering how they would adjust to the tests, languages, discipline etc etc
My son is 20 months old right now. I don't think he would have the slightest idea of how US is :) . He is going to enjoy the same education system which churned me out :)
When I went last time, I checked out the schools. They are not bad as I thought. All are improving. Since my son is a US citizen, he can easily come to US for college education.

IV Core. Can something be done to highlight this issue in your conversation with authorities ?
The problem with this argument is it separates the members of the Family. If the marriage is occurred prior to approval of green card spouse will fall in EB category. If the marriage date is after approval of the green card it will fall into Family quota. See those guys who got married after green card and trying to bring their spouses how much trouble they are having. Instead of focusing on that You can Focus on the issue of making one EB visa number per family in case EB immigrant. Now Each one of the Spouse are using one number. That will effectively double the available visa numbers.

To better be on safe side to get it stamped on my passport. I took info pass on 8-11-08 it will be almost 30 days

They say you will become actual permanent resident when you get the card The card is important.
As replied by Desi3933, it is incorrect to my knowledge. Approval notice it self is a proof that you are a Permanent Resident. The stamp in the passport works for us till we get the physical card. I think you will get it on 9/11/08 9Infopass appointment date).

Latest USCIS receipting up-date shows "July 29" for NSC. My application was received on July 31st. It seems my case is one more week wait....hopefully.

I also heard from my attorney yesterday that the checks are being processed now. I don't have any information other than that. Can I also call them and get the receipt numbers -- what information do I need to get the number? My case was sent to TSC...

Today I saw that my checks were cashed and I called USCIS to get the receipt numbers. The IO was very polite and gave me the numbers. Although I had filed at the Nebraska center, the receipt number starts with SRC (Texas).

I got finger print notice on 6-16-07.
I never got receipt notice and I could not read the number in back of my check image. My attorney even did not get any receipt notice either:confused:
The finger print is scheduled for July 7th. I sent all app. to NCS on the June first and they transferred to TCS. PD of Sep 2003 and I-140 was approved 2005. I also apply for travel doc. and work permit but no receipt so far.:rolleyes:

As I said dont just take the example I gave, consider all the visa bulletin for the last 30+ years and you will fidn a lot of examples.
Pitha -- you forget one very important thing -- they still wasted 10K visas in 2006. So in Aug and July they had not actually consumed all the visas -- they just expected to in August and didn't manage to.

Call them a lot of us did, when we got moved from one center (receipt notice) to another for processing. You should get a FP notice soon after you talked to them!

I have a unique position. couple of weeks back I was told that have fatal cancer and won't live pass 4-6 months. After recovering from initial shock I am wondering if my wife will be able to continue her american dream or she will have to head home after me.
I have filed 485 with approved 140 back in june, 2007 with PD of March, 2003
Please help.
